Perspective

Carolie Parker

There is one point
two point and pointless
(I am referring to some of
the excesses of Canaletto).
At some point, you just
lose it. Get a grip.
Check paintings by Piero
della Francesca; the linear
perspective is pretty solid.
Calm, harmonic figures
stride through fictional
situations no problem.

Carolie Parker is a visual artist and poet with a background in languages. She has recently been a MacDowell fellow (poetry) and a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome. Her collection of poems is titled Mirage Industry.
