Epilogue

Ricardo Frasso Jaramillo

We ran miles through dusk to the lake, then stood a time

by the frame of the water; the grasses mimicked the wind;

you’re not allowed to die before I die, one of us spoke

to the other; our figures faded slowly

from the water’s surface, its rippled insinuation of the world.

Ricardo Frasso Jaramillo is a writer of poetry and nonfiction. He is pursuing a PhD in creative writing and literature at the University of Southern California. He is working on his first nonfiction book, the incomplete biography of a volcano.
